Speech Pathology in the St George Region
Speech pathology for children and adults, based at our Kogarah clinic and serving families across the St George region.

Square One Therapy Hub offers speech pathology at 4 Short Street, Kogarah NSW 2217, supporting families across Hurstville, Rockdale, Bexley, Kogarah, Carlton and the Sutherland Shire. No referral is needed to book.
We see children from toddlers through school age, and adults who need support after a stroke or with acquired communication difficulties. Sessions are personalised, evidence-based and shaped around each person's goals. For a full picture of how we work, read our speech pathology service page.
Areas of speech pathology support
- Articulation and speech clarity
- Language development — understanding and expression
- Early literacy and school readiness
- Social communication and conversation skills
- Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
- Adult communication support post-stroke or with acquired conditions
What to expect at your first session
The first appointment is about understanding the person in front of us. We'll talk through your concerns, developmental or medical history and what you'd like to be different, then spend time with your child — or with you, if the session is for an adult — using play, conversation and structured tasks to see how communication is working day to day.
From there we set goals together and agree on a plan: how often sessions should run, what we'll work on first, and what can be practised at home or at school. Where more information is needed, we'll recommend formal assessment and explain what it involves before anything goes ahead. Our therapists share notes across disciplines, so if your child also sees our OT or physiotherapist, everyone is working toward aligned goals.
Funding your speech pathology
We work with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants — speech pathology usually sits under Capacity Building — Therapy Supports. Our NDIS funding guide explains how it works, and our NDIS therapy in Kogarah page covers the local side.
We also accept Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDM) referrals from your GP, and private health rebates can be claimed on the spot via HICAPS where your cover includes speech pathology. Private clients are welcome with no referral at all — you can simply book. If you're unsure which option applies, our admin team can walk you through it on a free 15-minute call.
Our clinic space in Kogarah
Sessions run from our rooms at 4 Short Street, Kogarah NSW 2217. The clinic has dedicated therapy rooms alongside a motor skills room and quiet calm-down spaces, so a child who needs to move before they can settle and talk has somewhere to do it. There's ramp access to the building and free on-site parking, including accessible spots for prams and wheelchairs, and Kogarah Station is about a five-minute walk away.
When it makes more sense to work where the skills are used, we also offer home, school and preschool visits across the St George region by arrangement.
